Be inspired!

And as imagination bodies forth The forms of things unknown, the poet’s pen Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing A local habitation and a name. – William Shakespeare (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) This image is the property of © Linn Horn Stokke

Write in Ecstacy!

“Write in Ecstacy. Edit with intent. Always!” – Philip Athens

It’s been a while since I last posted. Sorry!

Thing is, I’ve been writing with ecstasy… then I’ve been editing! And with intent! This means I’ve been consumed with working on polishing my novel.

The point is still very much true. When we sit down to write – from that very first sentence – it should be without inhibitions. Write whatever comes to mind, every idea, every thought. Something amazing will flow through from your mind through your fingers, and onto “paper”. Then you can start to brutally chop it to pieces until all you is left with is your intent, popping off the page!

Happy writing peeps! 🙂

New Beginnings!

Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one…

What’s the point of looking backwards? The only reason has to be to learn from the past, but other than that, no possibilities or do-overs exist. You have only now and tomorrow to start your new beginnings.

Your new beginning is up for grabs at every turn, at every decision and every step of the way.

Take charge: Don’t go looking for it, leap into it. If you want to start over, do. If you want to change a bad habit, decide. If you want to be successful, work. You are the boss of your tomorrow. The possibilities are endless.

Especially when times are rough, remember that:

At the end of every pathway is a new beginning!

– Stay inspired, peeps 🙂 and leave your comments. Your words are invaluable, and they are yours!

30 – a milestone?

Age is just a number, right? Or is it?

Right, so tomorrow I’m leaving the glorious 2os to enter the, oh so dreaded, 30’s… yet, I’m not dreading it as much as I thought I’d might.

I’m left reminiscing about everything I have experienced and the bad stuff always seem to float to the surface when one speaks about the past. However, I intend to do my best to dig out the joyful moments.
The moments when I’ve felt happy. Those are the ones worth reminiscing about!

Me 🙂 Still, 29!

Lots of things are happening at the moment, good and bad, but I’m somehow really looking forward to get cracking on my 30’s. – perhaps I’ll finally feel like an actual adult? I’m hoping that my 30’s will prove to be a crazy adventurous chapter in my life, and hopefully one less complicated than the 3 decades that has just transpired.

Age is wisdom, I think, but it all depends on what you take along with you. Learning from your mistakes and keeping your eyes front is a life lesson I was taught early. Don’t dwell on the bad stuff – and it really is true that life is in the small moments of happiness. What is joy, really? We all seem to want to experience it so badly, but do we forget to take notice when it’s there?

– It’s in every day life.

– Joy is when your child says their first words or when they finally say ‘I love you’ back.
– Joy is when you hold your partners hand, or that first paycheck and every paycheck after that.
– Joy is when someones calls you just to say ‘hi, how are you?’  And when they listen to you, without reservation or judgment.
– Joy is feeling the wind in your hair, skinny dipping on a warm summer’s night, or feeling the grass between your toes.
– Joy is accomplishing your goals, however big or small they might be.

– Joy is celebrating your birthday – any birthday! Knowing another year has passed…

And so, I feel joyful for turning 30 years young. It feels good! And I look forward to celebrating it with those close to me! Those are moments I will take with me. The bad stuff is tucked away at the back of my mind and I only unwrap it, just a little, when I need to remember what it is I learned from it, and when I need to remember that it is all in the past!

My kid… what’s more joyful than him? In my eyes, nothing!

Come on 30’s – Bring it ON!!!

Third eye rising

READ THIS BOOK! Follow his author page to know when to get it!

So, this is an early quick-review of an amazing book! I have only read the excerpts of the first chapters because it is not out yet. But in a couple of months it will be, and you do not want to miss it!

Check out “Third eye rising” by Shane Landry. A thrilling urban fantasy novel. It is wicked fun, fast paced, filled with wit that will make you laugh, as well as a lot of action. Jon Animate is our slick “hero” and despite his many flaws you will learn to love him! Keep yourself up to date, because you WANT to read this!

Music! The key to better days!

Music! The key to better days!

– First, I’m sorry for my absence over the holidays! There. Done. –

Are you feeling inspired? Did you set a new years resolution? And have you already failed? Don’t worry, I’m sure it wasn’t as important to you if you’re not keeping it. If you are keeping it, then good for you! I don’t usually set new years resolutions, but I tend to set goals for myself at the beginning of the year. Last year, it was to finish the draft of my first novel. Yes, check! The year before that it was to drop 25 kilos. Yay, check! This year? I think; to publish my novel, plan my wedding (get married) and be the most attentive mother I can manage. This seems doable to me 🙂

Theme tune? Irene Cara, Flashdance – What a feeling! (– Feel the rhythm!)

What are your goals for this year? I believe it is better to have something to strive for than nothing at all. No matter how far you get. And, it really isn’t about the goal (though granted, it is gratifying to reach it), it is truly about the journey.

Hmm – theme tune? S club 7 (oh yes) – Reach for the stars!

I’ve had a rough start to 2015. The year that was going to be THE year – however, I am determined – The year will improve. And my goals for the year are within realistic reach!

Theme tune? David Guetta – Titanium!

When in doubt, however, put on your favorite music. Please, if you’re feeling blue, play some blue tunes. By all means! But, then, end it off with tunes that will make you feel like you can overcome any and all obstacles. That is what I’m doing right now. I have a few favorites for this. Johnny cash and Eric Clapton for starters, then Savage garden, Queen and Pink. And to top it off, “Let it go” from Frozen entered onto the list of my favorite songs the moment I first heard it. Disney always knew how to make good music and they did not fail this time either. It is right up there with Aladdin’s “I can show you the world”, Pocahontas’s “Colors of the wind” and the little mermaid’s “part of your world”.

I have to admit, it is hard to feel inspired when the world seems to be in such a dark place. I hope I can lift your spirit with a couple of the songs on my current playlist!

food for thought … borrowing this beautiful work from Fool’s Blog!

A song for a time of darkness

23 Dec 2014 – Singing

Can you hear the voices calling,
full of rage and full of greed?
Do you fear the lights are falling,
seeing how the basest feed?

Watching, now that Evil’s bolder,
do you seek a place to stand?
Do you dread a world grown colder,
hate seen holding winning hands?

Welcome to the ancient story!
Now you share your father’s load.
Missing from old tales of glory
were the terrors of the road.

Anguished that you’re not their equal,
measuring yourself to them,
do you fear their children’s sequel –
your best efforts they’d condemn?

All your fathers, all your mothers,
stood here, weeping by a grave.
Now you’ve joined with all the others,
it’s your hour, it’s your day.

Do you hear? The days are singing:
“you’re enough – though tears still run!”
As an eagle they Are…
